The Empowerful podcast was created to share the profound stories of other founders and influencers who are changing the world for good. Together, we can amplify that change. We live by the motto of an old African Proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We hope you enjoy!

This week on the MiiR Empowerful Podcast MiiR cofounders, Bryan, and Rebecca Papé talk with Eric Stowe, the Founder and Executive Director of Splash. Founded in 2007 Splash has now become one of the most respected organizations in the water, sanitation and hygiene world. Listen in as we talk about best business practices, the accomplishments of Splash and the future of clean water.
Eric Stowe has been spearheading a new model for international development—one that challenges the way the WASH sector thinks about transparency, philanthropy, collaboration, and impact. Eric's ideas have been shared through publications in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, Forbes, CS Monitor, Wired, and more. In 2017, Eric was awarded the WaTER Center's International Water Prize for his innovative approach to providing clean water to children in underserved urban areas. Today, Eric manages his growing organization of 50+ staff across five countries from Seattle, Washington.
Splash is a field-leading WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) organization focused on urban environments and, specifically, the poorest children within them. Splash works with the public, private and social sectors in Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Ethiopia, India, Nepal and Thailand to create lasting and local safe water solutions for orphanages, schools, clinics and shelters.
Splash, today, provides clean water to over 400,000 kids and supports hygiene education at over 500 sites. MiiR has supported their projects in India, Nepal, China affecting over 8000 people, mostly children. Read more about the Splash x MiiR partnership for clean water.
