The Empowerful Podcast was created to share the profound stories of other founders, movers, and shakers who are positively impacting the world. Together, we believe we can amplify that change. We live by the motto of an old African Proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
On Episode #8, MiiR Founder & CEO, Bryan Papé, sits down with Johannes Ariens, Co-Founder & CEO of LOGE Camps and the Seattle Chapter Chair for Surfrider Foundation. In the podcast, we discuss Johannes' journey, how the idea LOGE Camps came into motion, and Surfrider Foundation's incredible work to protect our oceans and beaches. We hope you enjoy!

Founded in 2016, LOGE Camps creates "unique lodging experiences in the center of great outdoor recreation hubs that give you a place to connect with others, try out new gear, and see new places." This team of adventurous, curious, and active outdoor folks believes that "more responsible users of the outdoors creates more people that will fight for the protection of our wild places." Therefore, LOGE Camps give 1% of their topline revenue from each location to local non-profits that foster and encourage responsible outdoor use. Their sponsorship partners include: Surfrider Foundation, Northwest Avalanche Association, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, and Central Oregon Trail Association.

Founded in 1984, the Surfrider Foundation is "dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's ocean, waves, and beaches through a powerful activist network." At any given moment, their network of volunteers, staff, and activists are working on one of at least 100 campaigns across the country focusing on beach access, coastal preservation, clean water, ocean protection, and plastic pollution.
