Putting People & the Planet Over Profit

With design, generosity, and sustainability at our core, MiiR actively contributes to the flourishing of people and planet. We do this through strategic, trust-based grants to nonprofits whose work empowers communities while also stewarding our environment and home planet. While we are proud to give more than 1% of our annual revenue to organizations that directly address environmental impact, becoming a 1% for the Planet Member in 2017 has been instrumental in building community and demonstrating our giving.

1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses, nonprofits, and individuals working together for a healthy planet.

 Here’s how it works:

  1. Join: Business members join the 1% for the Planet network, committing to donate the equivalent of 1% of gross sales through a combination of monetary, in-kind, and approved promotional support directly to environmental nonprofits.

  2. Advise: 1% for the Planet provides partnership advising, pairing members with environmental nonprofits that align with their values and brand while maximizing impact.

  3. Donate: 1% for the Planet business members support their nonprofit partner(s) directly — no intermediary necessary!

  4. Certify: Through 1% for the Planet, all donations are certified — this legitimizes members’ commitment by reviewing and confirming sales and donation details annually.
